Estate planning involves helping families make thoughtful decisions that hold up as lives change, laws shift, and new generations step forward.
Because of that, how a law firm is built plays a meaningful role in the quality of expertise clients receive.
At McCormack Law, we believe estate plans are strongest when they are shaped by a generational team of attorneys. Pairing newer legal perspectives with seasoned experience allows us to serve families with both technical precision and real-world understanding.
That philosophy is central to how we practice.
Why the Next Generation Plays a Role in Estate Planning
Estate planning is not static.
Tax laws change, planning tools evolve, and family structures shift through marriage, remarriage, blended families, aging parents, and adult children stepping into new responsibilities.
To keep a plan relevant over time, families benefit from working with a firm that stays current on legal developments, while also understanding how those changes affect real people, not just theoretical scenarios.
Adding younger attorneys to the team is a deliberate choice to build continuity and long-term support for clients and their families.
What Newer Attorneys Contribute
Younger attorneys bring valuable strengths to estate planning work, including:
- Current legal training grounded in today’s tax laws, planning strategies, and regulatory environment
- Comfort with evolving technology and modern communication expectations
- Awareness of emerging family dynamics and questions that may not have existed a decade ago
This perspective helps shape plans that are not only valid today, but thoughtfully prepared for what families are likely to face in the years ahead.
What Experience Adds to the Equation
Seasoned estate planning attorneys contribute:
- Insight gained from guiding families through incapacity, loss, probate, trust administration, and conflict
- A practical understanding of where plans tend to break down and how to draft with those realities in mind
- Judgment developed by seeing which strategies hold up over time and which ones look good on paper but fall short in practice
That experience helps translate complex rules into advice families can actually use in real situations.
The Strength of Working Together
The real value comes from collaboration.
When current legal knowledge is paired with decades of practical experience, clients benefit from plans that are thorough, grounded, and tailored to real family circumstances. At McCormack Law, attorneys don’t work in silos. Client matters are approached collaboratively so each plan reflects multiple perspectives and levels of experience.
Welcoming Taylor Olson to the Firm

Taylor is our newest associate and her expertise focuses on estate planning and post-death administration. Before joining McCormack Law, she spent two and a half years as an associate attorney at a boutique estate planning firm, where she drafted estate plans, administered trusts and estates, and advised clients on tax and elder law issues.
She is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and participates in the Real Property, Probate, and Trust Law, Elder Law, Tax Law, and Young Lawyers sections. Taylor is also an active member of the Association for Women Lawyers and volunteers with the Marquette Volunteer Legal Clinic, providing legal assistance to underserved members of the Milwaukee community.
What This Approach Means for Clients
For our clients, a generational legal team means:
- Estate plans that can evolve as life and the law change
- Ongoing support for children and grandchildren, not just the current generation
- A firm that plans ahead for leadership transitions instead of reacting to them
Our goal is to build a practice that can support families over the long term, through every stage of life and across generations.
